AUDI A1 Raffle- CANCELLED

The Logan Metro Football Club committee has made the decision to CANCEL the Audi A! raffle effective immediately.

Ticket sales and interest weren’t tracking towards a profit for the club and left LMFC with the risk of not covering costs & potentially out of pocket thousands of dollars.

Every  ticket holder will be contacted and refunded in full.

The LMFC committee would like to thank everyone who purchased a ticket and supported the initiative. The club intends to run another major fundraiser in 2017.

LMFC have drawn capital 1 team, Centenary Stormers in the Westfield FFA Cup Brisbane Zone Qualifying Round 2, arguably the toughest match up of the draw!

Brisbane Zone qualifying breakdown

The following Brisbane Zone qualifying rounds will comprise the following break down.

  • Round 3 – The 21 winners from Round 2 will be joined by the remaining 19 teams (7 highest ranked Capital 1 teams based on positions on the 2015 ladder & all BPL teams) – 20 matches.
  • Round 4 – 20 winners from Round 4 – 10 matches.
  • Round 5 – 10 winners from Round 4 plus the 6 Brisbane based PS4 NPL QLD teams – 8 matches.
  • Round 6 – 8 winners from Round 5 – 4 matches.
  • Round 7 – 4 winners from Round 6 – 2 matches.
  • Round 7 winners progress to the Westfield FFA Cup national Round of 32

About the FFA Cup

The Westfield FFA Cup is a national knockout tournament run by Football Federation Australia in conjunction with every State and Territory Member Federation in the country.

Each and every cup tie must be decided on the day, with extra time and penalties to decide results of matches drawn after 90 minutes.

In 2015, over 650 semi professional and amateur clubs will compete in the Preliminary Rounds to determine the 21 slots allocated to Member Federations with the 22nd slot going to the reigning national PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues champions. The ten Hyundai A-League clubs will join the competition in the Round of 32.

AUDI DRIVING LOGAN METRO FC INTO 2016

Logan Metro Football Club is proud to announce a new partnership with one of the world’s most exciting car manufacturers, with the Audi Centre Springwood joining the club as a major sponsor for the 2016 season.

In a landmark deal for the club, the Audi logo will feature on the back of all club jerseys in the 2016 season, LMFC’s first in the Football Brisbane competitions.

LMFC will also be raffling off a brand new 2016 Audi A1 as a fundraiser throughout the 2016 season, with the car to be given away at the club’s presentation night at the Audi Centre Springwood at the end of the season.

Tania Meli, the General Manager of Audi Centre Springwood was delighted to announce the deal with Logan’s fastest growing sporting club.

“We are happy to be supporting Logan Metro FC, a key community player within the Logan Area,” Meli said.

“As a new business to the Logan area, Audi Centre Springwood is proud to be supporting local communities.”

Internationally, Audi sponsors a number of exceptional global sporting brands including football clubs such as Real Madrid FC, FC Barcelona, AC Milan, and Bayern Munich, as well as reigning AFL premiers Hawthorn in Australia.

Audi Centre Springwood will also donate to LMFC, Audis for a weekend to use as incentives for player and coach recruitment, as well as for fundraising.

LMFC club president Samuel Escobar was similarly thrilled at the new partnership.

“This is huge for the club,” Escobar said.

“To have a brand as admired and respected as Audi on board in 2016 is a massive show of faith in the club’s vision.”

“It will also be a great opportunity for us to raise money throughout the season with the car raffle, which is an extraordinary prize to be able to give away.”

Raffle tickets for the 2016 Audi A1 will be available at training sessions, game days, official club events and by request.

New field lighting for Compton Park

State MP for Woodridge, Cameron Dick today announced LMFC has been successful in obtaining $100000 through the Get in the Game program for a field lighting upgrade at Compton Park!

The upgrade to the field lighting will bring the lighting beyond the average standard required.

Logan City Council and LMFC will also contribute towards the project.

Get Playing Places and Spaces provides grants of up to $100,000 to assist with the development of places and spaces so Queenslanders are encouraged to become involved in the sport and active recreation activity of their choice.

Cameron Dick

Amar Melandri- 2016 strength & conditioning coach

Logan Metro Football Club is proud to announce Amar Melandri as the club’s strength and conditioning coach for 2016.

Amar was part of the Eastern Suburbs F.C.coaching staff that won the 2015 BLK silver boot competition.

Amar graduated with his Bachelor of Applied Science from Queensland University of Technology as well as being an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with ESSA. His love for sport led him to this profession where he represented at state level with football (soccer), cricket and athletics. AFL, tennis and rugby (Go! All Blacks) are also passions where he has worked with various levels of athletes in these sports which has now led him to undertake his Masters within the area.

Originally from Perth, Amar’s psychology in exercise physiology is more a rounded lifestyle approach with long term and sustained benefits. His principles are in developing a foundation to prevent injuries, grow in a functional and athletic capacity in movement mechanics, maintenance of cardiac, respiratory and metabolic conditions, eventually to live a better quality of life.

Jen Dunn appointed women’s coach

Logan Metro FC is proud to announce Jen Dunn as been appointed our women’s coach in 2016!

Jen played for LMFC in 2015 and won the committee’s player of the year award, she has also previously played for Olympic FC and coached girls at the Yeronga club.

Our city women begin preseason training on Wednesday, 20 January, 2016
