Logan Metro FC is super proud and excited to announce inaugural player and premiership winning Head Coach Luis Melgar has recommitted for the 2020 season!

This will be Luis’s 3rd season in charge and the clubs first season in Capital League 2.

” I’m very excited to be continuing at Logan Metro FC. We have a such a young squad and I know everyone at the club are looking forward to testing ourselves in Capital League 2 next season and challenge ourselves to play at an even higher standard and better consistency than we did this year.

We all know Capital 2 will be a massive a challenge however, having retained a core group of the playing squad that achieved success in 2019, we are confident we can be competitive.

In order to really push for the goals we have set, we are hosting open trials starting in late November and looking strengthen by adding depth in key positions and adding players who have the right attitude and same ambitions we do. “- Luis Melgar, Head Coach

Inaugural player and a vital part of our 2019 success, assistant coach Saul Argueta has also recommitted for 2020.

” I’m super excited about being able to keep working at my beloved club for another season. I’m sure next season will be a lot tougher, but I’m ready for the challenge.”- Saul Argueta, Assistant Coach.

Unfortunately, a club favourite and undefeated Reserves Coach Lorenzo Guglielmino wont be returning in 2020 due to increased work commitments and the recent birth of his son Mateo.

Head Coach- LUIS MELGAR

Luis has recommitted to the club after his 1st season as the head coach at LMFC which saw our first team set several club records including- most goals scored in a season, least goals conceded in a season (2nd best in the league), highest placed finish,  most points in a season. Luis heads into day 1 of preseason with the core of the squad already committed to him and the club for 2019.

“I’m genuinely excited at the quality of support we’ve added to our coaching team this year. In order for us to be successful on the pitch, we need to be at our best behind the scenes as a coaching team. I’ve got zero doubt that we’ve set ourselves up for a strong season in 2019”

Reserves Coach-  LORENZO GUGLIELMINO

Originally from Argentina, Lorenzo has recently completed his FFA ‘C’ License. He shares the same philosophy  on football as  head coach Luis and will be a big asset to the coaching set up in 2019

Under 18 Coach/capital assistant-  MICHAEL ULSTAD

Michael was  the captain for the reserves in 2018 which  saw them go 1 game shy of the grand final. A natural leader and a strong presence in the change room, Michael will guide our under 18 academy and help discover and develop the next lot of LMFC stars as well as assist with training for the capital teams.
